Coming up! A series of films co-hosted by AKKS Bergen, Vers Libre and Cinemateket about the music industry's outsiders and rebels. Each screening features a conversation about the films which will be recorded and then radio broadcast on Vers Libre in the near future.
The Punk Singer - 11.mars / kl.18
A panel discussion for the Punk Singer will be moderated by music journalist Charlotte Myrbråten. The panel will include two band members from Bergen band Vepsestikk and punk musician Samuel Slay Dalheim.
In The Punk singer, director Sini Anderson takes a closer look at the phenomenon that is Kathleen Hanna. Through archive footage and interviews, we get a vivid picture of the Riot Grrrl scene.
We meet Hanna herself, and get an honest insight into her upbringing, career, political opinions, her marriage to Adam 'Ad-Rock' Horowitz, and not least why she has been retired since 2005.
Silvana - 27.mars / kl.18
For documentary film Silvana, this panel discussion will be moderated by music journalist Frida Fliflet. The panel includes musicians Tatiana Palanca, Selim Mutic and film and music journalist Lars Frøyshov.
Rapper Silvana Imam has been a prominent voice in Swedish public life as an artist, feminist and anti-racist since her debut with Rekviem in 2013. The documentary SILVANA shows both the pop star behind the sharp lyrics and private life, including her relationship with artist Beatrice Eli.

Vers Libre's very own Knut Jonas Sellevold leads a discussion around Keyboard Fantasies, the story of 70-year-old musical genius, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, who finally finds his place in the world as a black trans man.
